Electric bikes are a great way to cycle - whether it's for the daily commute; popping out to the shops or leisurely Sunday afternoons along the towpath. Whatever your reasons for considering buying an electric bike, you'll want to be sure that the bike is comfortable and suits your needs.
That's where we can help.
We specialise in converting standard bikes to electric bikes, using high quality electric bike kits. At this point you may be asking yourself: "Why bother? There are already hundreds of off the shelf electric bikes available in the UK". And you would of course be correct - there is an overwhelming choice of electric bikes available for you to purchase, but before you dismiss the idea of converting a standard bike to an electric bike let us point a few things out to you:
1) The price of a converted bike is usually less expensive than a factory built equivalent
2) The quality of a converted bike will be better than a factory built equivalent
3) With a conversion you get a choice of battery; controller; gear change mechanism; throttle; seat and so on
4) If you already have a bike that you're happy with we can convert this to electric for you
5) All of our work is guaranteed for 12 months
So you can get an electric bike conversion that's better quality than a factory equivalent; costing less than the factory bike; and you get a choice of components. How does it sound now?
What bikes can be converted?
Most bikes are suitable for conversions: trekking bikes; mountain bike; hybrids; step through bikes and folding bikes being the most popular. Once converted these bikes enjoy the exact same benefits of factory built electric bikes.
What is the specification of the electric kit?
First and foremost we only use the best quality kits that are guaranteed for 12 months. There is a choice of battery style and size; controller; an option for throttle only or throttle and pedal assistance and last but not least we cater for almost all wheel sizes. The kits that we use are 36V with 250w motors.

Our review of the Green Zebra Classic
What's it like to ride?
Like all of the bikes that we sell, the Green Zebra Classic is a well made, well designed electric bike that is comfortable and gives great assistance when the power is applied. This review is focussed on the detail of the bike, highlighting some of the things that you might want to know when deciding which electric bike to choose.
It's a folding bike - what's the frame like?
The Green Zebra Classic has got a good folding mechanism with good clasps to hold everything in place when cycling. Like all folding bikes it takes a bit of getting used to, but once you've mastered the folding mechanism it's straightforward. The frame of this bike is quite high, so if you're concerned about getting on and off the bike (stepping through the frame) then this electric bike probably isn't for you In every other way, it's a super electric bike.

Configure your own Electric Bike
Have you been finding it difficult to find an electric bike
that is perfect for you? There are lots of electric bikes to choose from but
are they the right style? Too expensive? Not cool enough for your needs? We
might just have found the answer for you. Interested? Then read on…
What if you could choose the style of bike that you wanted and then add the electric components of your choice onto that bike. That would give you the perfect electric bike, right? Even better if a professional electric bike provider offered this service at sensible prices. Too good to be true? Well…No.
At Ebike Superstore the service to assemble the electric bike of your choosing is available, and it’s not as expensive at you might think. With prices starting at £695 it’s an attractive proposition. So how does it work?
To start with Ebike Superstore provide a range of top quality bikes on which to base your electric bike conversion. This is an important consideration because it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that an electric bike is still a bike and it needs to have good a quality frame; forks; shifters; gearsets and brakes. So with the starter bikes, this is all taken care of. Choose from a variety of mens and ladies bikes with a frame size to suit and then you can decide what electric conversion suits your needs.
The standard electric bike conversion comes with a seat post battery (sometimes called a frog battery); front wheel drive and a thumb throttle. You need to decide whether you want a different battery and whether to add a pedal assistance system.
You can change the seat post battery for either a bottle battery or a pannier battery – both of these will give better performance. There are pro and cons of the different types of electric bike batteries but that’s a subject for another time.
The final decision is whether to add a pedal assistance system. It’s hard to see why you wouldn’t want to add PAS to your electric bike – it’s great fun, makes cycling more interesting and just makes life so much more comfortable when you reach a hill. It also ensures that you prolong the life of your battery.
Even with the most expensive starter bike; battery upgrade and PAS added the final price of the conversion is still well under £1000 which is great value for money given that a number of electric bikes still retail for well over £2000.
More details can be found at Ebike Superstore.

So just what exactly is an ebike?
An ebike (electric bike) is like a normal bicycle but it has a battery driven motor that assists you when pedalling. This makes cycling much easier because you have to expend far less effort when pedalling.
ebikes are relatively new to the UK and the popularity of these power assisted bikes has been incredible

little bit of assistance throughout the process, so that you do not have to do
everything on your own. Electric Bikes generate electricity as you ride in this

all of your energy trying to climb hills and make your way around.

bike so that you do not have to try as hard in order to move around on the
bicycle. It’s a very efficient and useful tool, can be particularly helpful if

Electric Bikes a Hit Amongst Cash Conscious Commuters
They’re
a major hit in China, with over 120 million sold over the last decade. With
rising fuel prices and congestion fees popping up all around the country,
e-bikes – an incredible new form of electronic bicycle – are quickly becoming
the ‘next big thing’ in Europe thanks to their tiny form factor and incredibly
low cost of use.
Electric
bicycles have been around for a long amount of time, with models on sale in the
United Kingdom for the better part of twenty years. Formerly used by hobbyists
as an inexpensive transportation option, electric bicycles are now going
mainstream in the UK, with an estimated 700,000 electric bikes sold in Europe
throughout 2010.
Given
the rising cost of getting around towns and cities in the UK by public
transport and private vehicle, it’s easy to see the advantages of electric
bikes. But many riders report being drawn to electric bicycles for reasons
other than their low costs, ‘green’ record, and their comfort for riders.
Many
electric bicycle owners are former cyclists who have grown tired of riding to
and from work on cool mornings. Preferring to save their energy to use as their
job, these former hobbyist cyclists have taken to electric bikes thanks to
their surprising amount of power and reasonably efficient use of electrical
energy.
A single
battery charge is often enough to drive an electric bike and its rider for over
twenty miles – in some cases, even further when the pedals are used lightly. As
most office workers would prefer to avoid performing a Tour De France feat of
endurance every morning, the self-riding electric bikes have gained a large
amount of users.
Another
key benefit amongst electric bicycle users is the low electricity usage and
fantastic green record of e-bikes. While motorcycles use a large amount of
petrol – in some cases, far more per passenger than a larger car – many former
scooter and motorcycle riders have turned to electric bikes as a clean and
green alternative.
The
average electric bicycle puts out no emissions and uses only a nominal amount
of electricity as it pushes its rider along their commute, research shows. As
such, it’s a great green idea to ride an electric bicycle to and from work
instead of using your car, your motorcycle, or any number of other polluting
forms of transportation.
Finally,
the low cost of operating an electric bicycle is an obvious draw for workers
and commuters searching for a cheap form of transportation. With the cost of
public transport on the rise and petrol now at extortionate levels, the low
cost of charging an electric bicycle is a small price to pay for a simple,
stress-free daily commute.
From
their environmental advantages to their cost-cutting benefits, electric bikes
are growing in popularity for good reason. Now the de-facto form of city
transport in many parts of China and a growing travel choice in Continental
Europe, electric bikes are rapidly becoming the UK’s number one personal
transport choice.

Holiday On An eBike.
What better way to enjoy all the scenery on a holiday to Cornwall than on an eBike? A Cornish cycle company has introduced a brand new fleet of eBikes to their collection to enable tourists of all ages and abilities to tour the county and go sightseeing on two wheels. The first and only company in Cornwall to offer these electric bikes to tourists, Cornish Cycle Tours have said that they are perfect for people of mixed ages such as a family with one or two generations like grandparents and it is a way to keep fit too.
The company which was founded six years ago provides a service to tourists so that they can have a safe and enjoyable cycling holiday in Cornwall and visit all the splendid scenery. The holidays are set along certain routes that vary in length and distance and difficulty, to cater for all abilities. The owner of Cornish Cycle Tours said 'We want to make Cornwall by bike accessible for everyone no matter how fit or experienced a cyclist they are. These new electric bikes are perfect for those looking to set a more leisurely pace for their holiday, or for groups with varying fitness levels.'
The eBikes made hardly any noise at all and have three different levels of assistance which are eco, normal and sport. The level you choose depends on the amount of exertion you want to make. The power for the bikes can be topped up at power sources along different points of the route or can be charged up each evening.
Cornish Cycle Tours have thought of everything to make your holiday an enjoyable experience from luggage transfers and detailed maps and information about the particular tour you choose to take, with step by step instructions for each day of the touring holiday. Prices are reasonable and start at £275 per person for a three day tour of Cornwall on an ebike.
Of course there is lots to see and do in Cornwall, so if a cycling holiday isn’t your thing then don’t be put off! In fact, if you know you want to stay in the area but aren’t sure what to do then a quick search online can help. Lots of tourist places have websites now, which means that you should find it easy enough to find places to visit. This is great news because it means that whatever type of holiday you enjoy there will be something to suit you.
On the flip side of that if you enjoy cycling but don’t want to visit Cornwall, you can see enjoy an eBike. Whether you buy your own, or hire one locally they can be enjoyed almost anywhere! Aren’t sure of a retailer that can help? A quick search online for eBikes should be able to help. In fact these are often so easy to get hold of that you can be on your local cycle paths much quicker than you imagine!
School Cycling Fundraiser.
Cycling the Tour de France requires years of dedication and hard work just to complete the three week race, and the 2,000 miles it requires each cyclist to pedal, just ask Bradley Wiggins who won the race last year to become the first British rider in the history of the event. So if someone said to you a group of cyclists were going to cycle a combined total of 1,337 miles in just 24 hours, and on just three bikes, you would laugh at them wouldn't you?
Well a team of dedicated people from the Lathallan School just north of Montrose in Scotland have done exactly that, despite taking an extra 45 minutes to complete the 1,337 miles, but considering the distance involved what's 45 minutes between friends!
Staff, pupils and parents came up with the novel idea of a cycle-a-thon to raise money for the schools forthcoming rugby and netball tours to Dubai. The schools Under 18 Rugby team are taking part in the prestigious two day Dubai College's Rugby 10s Tournament, while the schools senior Netball team are playing games against Repton College Dubai and Dubai College.
The team of intrepid cyclists set up three static bikes in the schools ballroom and as you would expect there was plenty of support on hand. All the pupils that are going on the tour took part in the cycle-a-thon, as well as numerous other pupils and teachers from the school. There were regular water breaks and plenty of sweets on hand to keep the cyclists going as they pedalled for glory. During lesson time the younger pupils added their support by working out how far the cyclists had travelled and how far they had left to go.
The school posted regular updates on their Facebook page so everyone could monitor their progress. If you wish to donate to the cause you can still do so by contacting the school direct and asking for Mrs Howie or Mr Horne, who will be only too glad to take your donations or sponsorship monies from you.
How many miles do you think you could cover in a 24 hour period? The great thing about this story was there were no climbing the Pyrenees or climbing the Alps like in the Tour de France, everything was done indoors, but none the less it was a truly remarkable effort by everyone that took part.
The great news is that this shows you can do something if you put your mind to it. A indoor cycle shows that you can even do a massive fundraising event in a relatively small space. If you want to do some fundraising why not try and range something similar? Cycling not your thing – don’t worry! Simply get searching online for fundraising inspiration and find something that tickles your fancy – you are bound to find something that suits you perfectly!
